Siemon Interconnect Solutions recently participated in cable testing with the UNH-IOL and those reports have been included on their Open Networking Integrators List.

This Integrator's List (IL) community effort listing Open Networking configurations demonstrated to be interoperable according to a community created test plan. In this list, you will find information about Open Networking Products that UNH-IOL has performed interoperability and conformance testing on. Successful completion of such conformance tests when combined with satisfactory operation in UNH-IOL's interoperability tests provides a reasonable level of confidence that the Product Under Test will function properly in many Open Networking environments.

After participating in the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory's (UNH-IOL) Open Networking Plugfest which took place in August of 2016, Siemon Interconnect Solutions is pleased to announce that test reports show that our 2 and 3 meter SFP28 DAC copper cable assemblies passed when using Mellanox switches and Cumulus Linux and Mellanox MLNX-OS operating systems. The test reports below can be viewed for a more detailed explanation of the results.

Siemon's SFP+ direct attached passive copper cables have been tested by the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Lab (UNH IOL) and passed their 10Gigabit Ethernet interoperability testing with several vendors' devices including: Brocade, Dell, Cisco, Mellanox, Arista, Arastra and F5. The report includes seven different SFP+ devices and five Siemon cable lengths from one to seven meters long. Five different link tests were performed employing various combinations of powering up the devices under test. All cables passed interoperability testing. In addition, a Packet Error Ratio Estimation test was run to determine if any packets are lost and there were no errors. This interoperability testing is part of Siemon's on-going program to certify our cables are suitable for use across a broad range of high speed networking equipment including some equipment that may require use of proprietary and higher cost assemblies.

Siemon's QSFP+ direct attached passive copper cables have been tested by the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Lab (UNH IOL) and passed their 40Gigabit Ethernet interoperability testing with Broadcom and Extreme Networks 40G switches. This interoperability testing is part of Siemon's on-going program to certify our cables are suitable for use across a broad range of high speed networking equipment. This testing also demonstrates that it is acceptable to use Siemon assemblies as an alternative to proprietary, higher cost assemblies required by some equipment manufacturers. The report includes three different QSFP+ 40G Ethernet devices: the Broadcom BCM56840, the Extreme Networks Summit X670 and the Extreme Networks BlackDiamond 8800 series switches. The testing includes five Siemon QSFP+ cable lengths from one to six meters long. Five different link tests were performed employing various combinations of powering up the devices under test. All cables passed interoperability testing. In addition, a Packet Error Ratio Estimation test was run to determine if any packets are lost and there were no errors.
